KALAMAZOO NATURE CENTER – Tagging and releasing of butterfies! (Sept. 10, 15 & 18, 2011)
You can enjoy being outside and be a part of a project that happens in all continents! Tag Monarch Butterflies that visit the Hummingbird-Butterfly Garden before they migrate to Mexico. Join Biologist Torrey Wenger to catch and tag Monarchs and learn more about these amazing creatures! Bring a butterfly net if you have one.
KALAMAZOO IRISH FEST Arcadia Creek Festival Place (Sept. 23-24, 2011)
You can celebrate all things Irish and green! Irish Fest features 12 bands, Irish dancers, cultural merchandise, beverages and contests – including things like greenest eyes, reddest hair and most freckles. Hours are Friday: 4:30 pm – midnight and Saturday: 10:30 am – midnight.
KALAMAZOO REPTILE AND EXOTIC ANIMAL SHOW Kalamazoo County Expo Center (Sept. 24, 2011)

HEAR VERDI’S MASTERPIECE, “LA TREVIATA” IN KALAMAZOO Miller Auditorium (Sept. 17, 2011)
The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra and virtuoso singers from around the world join forces for a production of Verdi’s opera masterpiece. Verdi’s glorious music underscores the tragic love story of Violetta and Alfredo. Come at 7pm for Maestro Harvey’s “Prelude” talk.
KALAMAZOO BOILING POT MUSIC FESTIVAL Arcadia Creek Festival Place (Sept. 29-Oct. 1)
The Boiling Pot Music Festival is a music and art event for all-ages! It has family-friendly music, activities and art vendors. There is something for everyone here. Bands include: Legendary Shack Shakers, Frontier Ruckus, Breath Owl Breath, Mustard Plug, Small Brown Bike and many more!
